Known to most Rockers in the Country as EDDIES, 'Edwards No.8' was at the centre of Birmingham's rock and goth scenes for over 30 years, and was Birmingham's last remaining & true, rock venue until it tragically burnt down a little after 1am on November 12th 2006.
In the late 80's it was the heart of a thriving Rock complex, which comprised two pubs/bars, a second club ('Edwards No.7') located immediately beneath it, and another club named 'Goldwyns' next door in an adjacent building.
In common with all clubs it had it's ups and downs (particularly in the late 90's), but unlike it's competitors it survived and was all the stronger for it's ordeal.

After the fire which took the original venue 'Eddie's' nights were briefly held at the 'Gosta Green' pub (near Aston University). In early 2007 they moved to 'The Newt' which was only 5 minutes walk from the original venue and were held every Saturday night.
Towards the end of 2008, the NEWT was told that Network Rail we taking the Newt as their Midlands Head Office. 'Eddie's' was on the move again, this time to Gough Street, practically across the road from the old venue.
From February 2009 Eddie's had completely taken over the old BUSK venue and is now officially known as 'EDDIES Rock Club'. Then came yet another blow, the building was sold to a Property Developer without our knowledge and we were closed without notice. It looked bleak, but Colin was on a 'Mission' to find somewhere else and fast. We couldn't end this way.... and with over 20,000 Rockers on Facebook willing us to find somewhere else to continue the EDDIES Legacy, it was with GREAT JOY that The TUNNEL CLUB (Livery Street, Birmingham B3 1HL) were willing to let EDDIES ROCK CLUB move in on July 5th 2014 for the Launch of a New Eara. We were ready to ROCK AGAIN....

PLEASE NOTE - Since the move to the Tunnel Club, WE CANNOT HAVE 'LIVE MUSIC'. Sorry to all bands that were hoping to play at EDDIES.
